sudo parted /dev/sdx mklabel gpt
sudo parted -a opt /dev/sdx mkpart primary xfs 0% 100%
sudo mkfs.xfs /dev/sdx1
Download the Cephadm script to add the Ceph repository:
sudo curl --silent --remote-name --location https://github.com/ceph/ceph/raw/octopus/src/cephadm/cephadm
Make the script executable and use it to install Cephadm:
sudo chmod +x cephadm
sudo ./cephadm add-repo --release octopus
sudo ./cephadm install
Initialize the cluster with a single monitor node:
sudo ./cephadm bootstrap --mon-ip <mon-ip-address>
Add additional nodes to the cluster:
ceph orch host add <node-name> <node-ip>
Expand storage capacity by adding OSDs:
ceph orch daemon add osd <node-name>:/dev/sdx1
Ensure the cluster is functioning properly:
ceph osd pool create testpool 8 8
ceph osd pool application enable testpool rbd
rbd create testimage --size 1024 --pool testpool
